read online eBook Lagerfeld: The Chanel ShowsAutor Simon Procter –

Great pics but quality of print not great Cover not fabulous neither Could have been qualitative and luxurious and modern Tr s beau livre An extraordinary look at Karl Lagerfeld s most iconic runway shows for Chanel, which have transformed the way we experience fashionLagerfeld showcases in an oversize format ten years of Chanel s most influential fashion shows shot by English photographer Simon Procter Over the past decade, fashion shows have evolved into monumental productions, requiring a level of sophistication and creativity on par with the clothes they present This has been most evident in Paris at the now legendary runways of Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel To capture the energy of the events, Procter visually re creates the epic sets from a luscious forest scene to a rocket launch combining multiple photographs to illustrate in a single image the many perspectives of the intense but fleeting spectacle The resulting artworks are held in collections worldwide and published in this book for the first time alongside never before seen candid images of Lagerfeld and the models preparing backstageLagerfeld offers the reader an unparalleled look into the wide ranging creativity of one of history s most respected and iconic designers, making this an invaluable resource for all lovers of fashion and especially admirers of Chanel and Lagerfeld s incomparable legacy collection This is a book about the SETS Many of the photos are beautiful, but if you re looking for images of the clothing, you ll be sorely disappointed I assumed that this book was like Robert Fairer s Unseen series, or Roxanne Lowit s backstage photography Nope This is largely aerial shots of sets where the models look like ants Even the closer shots frequently don t show the clothing very well I personally prefer Beno t Peverelli s Chanel Final Fittings and Backstage Buy only if you re interested in photos of many of the gorgeous sets. I have quite a few designer coffee table books, I,e, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, etc, I was really looking forward to this book dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld He personally took Chanel to a level never seen before in the fashion industry from the moment he took over Chanel herself would be pleased While the pictures are absolutely amazing and showcase the brilliance of Karl Lagerfeld, it is very very large book and difficult to handle and read You need a large table to set it on and open it up I was very disappointed and for that reason alone, I could not give it 5 stars And I will not gift it either for that reason Karl Lagerfeld was beyond genius No one will ever reach his greatness ever RIP. This book is oversized and well produced Gives a birds eye view of how Chanel shows are produced Good photography no text, just a visual capture of the grand Chanel experience Good coffee table book, with a high price tag Maybe most enjoyed by visual merchandising professionals. really disappointed probably the worst fashion book that I have ever seen. Es un libro grande, con una edici n muy buena y con una calidad en las fotograf as que hace muy placentera la lectura visual Las fotos son in ditas en su gran mayor a, y un gran testimonio documental de KL al frente de los desfiles de Chanel. ras
