Another delicious read from Zara Stoneley, and Blackberry Picking at Jasmine Cottage is as evocative as it s title From the first page the story sweeps you into the picturesque rural setting, and wraps you up in village life There s no such thing as sleepy countryside here though there s so much happening in Langtry Meadows, and so many fabulous characters who feel like best friends, once I d started reading I couldn t put it down We re treated to fabulous country detail, with lashings of fun and laugh out loud moments But there s also drama and unexpected twists, and times when my insides melted Satisfying as an autumn crumble and custard, heart warming as mulled wine on a chilly November evening Perfect to curl up with when the log fire is crackling. Loved this story Read the first book Summer with the Country Village Vet and wanted to find out what happened but this story could be read as a stand alone Characters believable and got really involved in the plot Had a chuckle at the scenes describing the nativity play in school as a teacher I could relate to those only too well Looking forward to the third book in this series I loved summer with the country side vet and following Lucy and Charlie s journey I was so happy when I saw there was a second story, blackberry picking at jasmine cottage It took me 2 days to read it I ve read lots of Zara s books and love how intriguing the stories are But this book is definitely my favourite book ever and I love the different story lines There are still so many questions, did they get married Have they got their own kids How is Elsie Is the school still there Is sally and Jamie still together And did Matt and Jill ever get together I need a 3rd book to complete the series This story was written in such an expressive way, you could almost be in the village of Langtry Meadows, almost smell the flowers, and the ale in the pub It did exactly what the author intended, created that world in the mind A fabulous story and I recommend it and its prequel whole heartedly. I really enjoyed this second book, finding about Lucy Charley all the people who live in around the village A good easy read, not that takes anything away from the book, just adds to it Can not wait for the next one Lovely little tale of a fresh start, village life and building new relationships and romance Just what s needed on a dull winters day Real feel good factor. Loved this book Great characters, fab settings, easy read, uplifting, funny, romantic and charming A really nice story that is the perfect escapist read. A good read albeit a slow starter Doesn t have Zara Stoneley usual easy read page turner feel to it I did enjoy it but wouldn t rate it as highly as book 1. Return to the charming little village of Langtry Meadows and cosy up by the fire with this gorgeous romance that will warm your heart As the lazy days of summer ebb away and the hedgerows fill with rich, plump blackberries, Lucy Jacobs couldn t be happier She s feeling and at home in the small village of Langtry Meadows and has fallen in love with idyllic Jasmine cottage not to mention gorgeous vet CharlieBut just as Lucy is thinking about putting down roots like the blackberries that grow in her garden, Charlie s ex returns and threatens to put a thorn in their perfect lifeAll the ingredients for a perfect, summery read it really captured my heart Cressida McLaughlin Sprinkled with oodles of charm I simply adored this book Christie Barlow Couldn t wait to read this story and it did not disappoint in any way This is what the world definitely needs of, good, clean unadulterated happiness Loved it.
