One of my favourite tropes is redeeming characters You know the ones who are not perfect and screw up all the time Meet Scott The story involves true friendship and finding himself With a little help from a cute artist along the way Scott is on a mission to put right all that has gone wrong The story has plot and off the page chemistry between the two characters These authors can write a cracking story I practically inhaled the whole book in one sitting I would highly recommend this series.

A decent light read that holds no surprises Either you like it, or not.

I didn t think I d like Scott because Scott was such an awful person in Ryker but once again RJ and VL have proved me wrong Scott is a story about grief and forgiveness and art and beauty and I really really loved it.

I have been looking forward to reading this ever since I heard it was in the works Meeting Ryker s teammate Scott fully and getting to know his story can sure change an impression To see all he went through and continues to go through just made me want to go all Momma Bear on his behalf. Then getting to meet the wonderfully talented and amazing all around, Hayne Even though he has a wonderful mom and Mimi, I felt the Momma Bear come out for him as well.Watching as these two figured things out, dealt with the nastiness they sometimes came across and seeing they had each other s backs , just made me love them even .Did they have issues to get over Of course Did they have to have friends or family get them to see things they couldn t see clearly Yes Did I love everyone in this book Pffft NO Was I happy for all the changes that happened and did I , at one point say out loud Omg I loved seeing that Yes I did I am not going to give all of it away However ,for different parts of this book, have tissue ready, a fan blowing on you and or be prepared to enjoy a little pay back Just sayin As always Ms Scott and Ms Locey took me on an amazing ride Emotions flying all over the place. We get to meet other players on Scott and Rykers team, catch up with Jacob andwell I won t ruin the surprise All I will say is at one point, I yelled Yes Yes Yes I was VERY excited. So do yourself a huge favor and get this book I am so looking forward to the next book starring Ben

The authors bring two seemingly unrelated characters from their points of sadness and loss into an unbelievably beautiful union with each other and their friends and families, that I was left crying with joy and deep appreciation with how the two are able to share their love of each other with all those who matter to them both.

Scott lost his brother With a downward dive into alcohol and steroids he also lost hockey and his family Nowhere to live, just getting by, he meets Hayne.Hayne is sensitive young man also trying to get over losing his best friend His art has suffered such darkness and his creative inspiration has fled These two young men come together trying to make sense of crushing loss Maybe together they can heal.Kind of a different story set in the hockey world This book places the emphasis on healing instead of hockey Told with vivid colors reflecting Hayne s moods and even though Scott wasn t the painter, his moods were also reflected in the colors on the canvas.I liked that the authors used the art as a backdrop to the story Hockey players from the Railers made a short appearance, keeping the two series tied together I enjoyed the book.

Nobody writes hockey like these two women Even when hockey isn t the focus of the story There is gried and pain and healing and laughter and love and growth music and art all over this book and it s wonderful. This is book 2 of a spin off series and although it stands well on its own, if you re a completist like me you ll want to minimally start with the first Owatonna U book Although really, starting way back at the beginning with the first Harrisburg Railers book is the way I d go But definitely read this one.

This book is a bit different from Ruler and a lot different from the Harrisburg Railers series, but it is still an amazing story Scott breaks my heart and puts it back together Hayne suits him perfectly There s a brief appearance by Ten and Jared Ryker and Jacob play supporting roles Yet this story belongs fully to Scott and Hayne I highly recommend it

Scott and Hayne had a wonderful story to tell I fell in love with Hayne s lovely soul Scott on the other hand was not as lovable in the beginning but the authors brought this character around where in the end I had come to love him too I can t wait for Ben s story and to see how Ryker and Scott s senior year goes.

I loved the journey of love that Scott and Hayne were put on in their story The trauma of Scott s past threatening to take over his future how he took the steps to get better for himself, Hayne and his parents was wonderful I also loved that Hayne was also allowed to grow and develop in his journey to see how strong, capable and true to himself that he could be in his life, along with Scott.
